Rebecca Jacoby
Rebecca Jacoby received her BA in Philosophy from Mount Holyoke College and an MFA in Printmaking from Pratt Institute. Working out of her studio in the Crane Arts Building in the South Kensington section of Philadelphia, Jacoby creates abstract mixed- media work on canvas and paper.
Jacoby creates densely packed, floating and inter-woven cellular-like formations that evoke geographic other-worlds, biological infrastructures and idiosyncratic realms of color, texture and form. Among the media Jacoby uses are oil and acrylic paint; pen and ink; pastel; and collage.
Jacoby’s work has been shown by the LG Tripp Gallery in Philadelphia; is included in private collections in New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC and Palm Beach; and in collections including the University City Science Center, Ogletree Deakins, LLP and Coventry.
