John Spears

Artist John Spears graduated with distinction in studio fine arts from Stanford University. He was taught by the well known artists Nathan Oliveira and Frank Lobdell. Upon graduating from Stanford he established a landmark studio in San Francisco and completed numerous commissions on the West Coast some of which included Apple Computer, Artelonics and Price Waterhouse. His works were selected in an international competition by the curator for the San Francisco Museum and also had a solo show at the San Jose Museum of Art.During the 1980?s he moved to Santa Fe where he was the director of the largest indoor/outdoor gallery in the Southwest, Shidoni Gallery & Foundry furthering his exploration in the screen process as a method for painting.In the last 20+ years he has resided on the East Coast in New Jersey and has completed numerous commissions throughout the region including Nabisco Brands, DuPont Corp., Ortho, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Smith Kline Beecham, HOK, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, Hillier Group, IBM, NeuStar, American Hospitality Corp, Turner Construction, and numerous other corporate and private collectors.
