Diane Lachman

Diane Lachman’s vibrant abstract paintings emphasize the expressive power of color. Her award winning paintings have been widely exhibited. She had solo shows in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Panama City, Panama, and Bethesda, Maryland. She participates in many juried and invitational group shows. Recent highlights include:
Navigation Puzzle, juried by Bridgette Mayer at The Delaware Center for Contemporary Art in Wilmington, the Da Vinci Art Alliance in Philadelphia, The Professional Artist Members Juried Exhibition at the Main Line Art Center in Haverford. She has also shown her work at the Old City Jewish Art Center in Philadelphia, The Art Trust in West Chester, The Burrison Gallery and the Addams Gallery at the University of Pennsylvania, the Perkins Center for the Arts in New Jersey and the State Museum in Harrisburg.

She taught drawing and color theory at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Design from 1993 to 2013. She is interested in how color defines our idea of form, and how color choice determines interpretation. Her intuitive approach to her art complements her years of teaching Josef Albers, Interaction of Color.
