ArtfulPrint Fine Art Printing

ArtfulPrint utilizes the Giclee printing process for the production of fine art editions. Giclee printing involves the use of professional large format printers with pigment inks and archival acid free canvas and papers.  Considered by some to be the new form of lithography, this process for the production of art editions is superior to traditional presses in its ability to offer a wider gamut of color.

Some of the Advantages of Giclee Printing:

  • There is a wider variety of papers and canvas available for use in Giclee printing
  • Different sizes can be printed on demand to accommodate the market
  • Giclee printers use eight or more colors compared to the traditional four color process
  • The range of colors produced is wider and Giclee printing can capture more colors

Giclee uses pigments not dyes in the printing process to insure lasting reproduction. Typically it is very hard for printers to reproduce all colors as saturation increases. More colors are captured with the Giclee process and because the pigments used provide greater brilliance, it has a better gamut than offset lithographs.

ArtfulPrint utilizes the Giclee printing process to create superior editions of artwork that capture the quality of the original pieces. This printing process allows us to offer our stable of artists a number of options with regard to either limited editions or on-going series. By utilizing the advantages that Giclee printing provides, artists are able to not only extend their artwork beyond the single original work, but are able to offer this work in a range of sizes if required.
