Marcus Romero grew up in rural Maryland. He spent much of his youth outdoors, captivated by the visual appeal of the dense vegetation and deep wooded valleys of the countryside. Attending The Carver Center, a Magnet school in Baltimore County, Marcus specialized in landscape painting. He then continued his education at The Cooper Union in New York City, further developing his techniques and skills in various styles and media.Currently, Marcus has been working on a series of Night Landscapes. These paintings explore the power and the mysteries of the natural world and reference the Hudson River School and popular culture.Marcus Romero lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. As a supporter and advocate for arts education, he is proud to work at a national arts in education organization called Young Audiences Arts for Learning. Young Audiences works with thousands of teaching artists around the country that integrate their art form into math, science, and English classes.
